Joel Duggan – Creative Director

Joel is a proud Canadian cartoonist born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Growing up, relatively speaking, cartoons were of course a big part of his daily life. They still are! While completing a bachelor’s degree in drawing and design at Mount Allison University, Joel drew a weekly comic strip for the university newspaper The Argosy. The strip, Jungle Jazz, was well received and established a small following of friends and other students. A love for cartoons became an undeniable passion and a career focus. Joel continued his education at The DaVinci Institute in Halifax where he received a diploma in Classical and 3D Character Animation in 2002. In 2004, Joel started Animafax Entertainment.

Joel keeps busy working on current projects as well as pushing for new ideas and developments at Animafax. The mind of this cartoonist never rests… and neither does his pencil. Outside the studio Joel is an avid runner and enjoys the spectacular hobby of power kiting!
