Warmup drawing turned out to be inspired by a new character over at PvPOnline.com. Thought I would polish it up a bit and post it.

My mind was wondering this afternoon, traveling over my week and what’s ahead. Then I realized that Thursday is October 1st!

I FINALLY had a chance to sketch while listening to the live recording of Extra Life Radio. Fun times.

I have been drawing a lot lately, but not posting much here since the majority of the stuff I’m working on will be posted on another site. (More to come on that later.) Here are a few warm up sketches I did on Sunday. Apparently, girls wearing big trucker hats with flaming skulls on them is all the rage. I saw more than one.

I’m running behind this week already. This morning seems to be no different. Even my warm up drawings is behind. Rushed. Still, I thought I would post it anyway.

I keep coming back to these characters. They’re fun to draw and each time I get back into them I make changes. Sometimes it’s a conscious effort to correct something I’m not happy with. Most times it’s just a natural progression of change that seeps into the sketches when I redraw the characters. I don’t always have an older sketch handy. I find the evolution really interesting. Thanks for the idea for Harriet’s special smile Paton!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas, and a safe and happy New Years!
Woot! Turkey! (doin’ the turkey dance)

I figured I should keep up with the Jones’s, or at the very least the Francis’s and make a post now that I have the time. Paton has been posting A-Santa-A-Day on his blog, Cardboard Treehouse. If you haven’t been visiting, you should be!

I picked up a new sketchbook on Saturday. It’s just a cheap-y landscape style book, 8 1/4 x 12. The paper has a pretty good tooth, and takes ink pretty well. Unfortunately I’ve noticed that the pages have already started to curl from use. Oh well, it was $6.95, so who cares. Worth picking up from DeSerres if you’re stopping by. I’ve already torn off the label and I forget the make. I’ll see if I can’t track it down. Here is a page… The scan was pretty grey. I think I need to reset my scanner. I had to tweak it a bit in Photoshop.

So, I started off with the plan of sketching a dragon. I liked the last one and thought I’d try to repeat the process. It was at the end of a busy day and I was tired. This is what came out of my pencil.

It’s been a few weeks. I’ve been drawing, but not scanning much, so I thought I’d make it a point to toss up a few things today. Most of these were drawn outside somewhere… Summer is here!

Paton and Matt and I saw Iron Man last Friday afternoon. Gotta love working from home and making your own schedule! It’s a great movie! We went to Montanas for a big meal after the show and Paton and I were doodling on the paper table cloth. I love it when they give you crayons! This started as a Norm-doodle on the table. I liked it, so I messed around with it in Sketchbook Pro at home – which crashed! – so I had to finish it in Photoshop. What was supposed to be a quick doodle-and-post didn’t quite turn out that way. Either way, go see Iron Man!

I was doodling at Starbucks yesterday and out of the scribbles came a couple of old friends I haven’t drawn in a really long time.

I think I’ve finally found a thrid design to compliment the other two goblin designs. (previous post, October 18) Everyone loves the big, dumb, bully type.
