Great one this week Joel! I loved it because I read the comment then had to go back to figure out what happened. It was like a joke that takes a minute to sink in. Those are the best because the awkward pause makes it even funnier!
Thanks Laura! I’m really happy with the art this week. Charlie continues to be a challenge for me to nail down, but switching back to Micron pens (previously using Pigma) made a big difference in the inking. I think I need to order a box of them so I don’t run out again for a while.
I was also battling with the fourth panel layout trying to make sure that it was clear what was happening without having to actually draw Charlie hitting the pole, or have a big “CLANG” sound effect to beat readers over the head with it. I could probably still tinker with it but I have to limit the amount of time I spend tweaking or I’d never post a comic!
